Ricardo Canedo Villalobos

Prior to founding Kala Capital, Ricardo spent six years working in the financial industry. Starting his full-time professional career in HSBC Corporate & Structured Finance team, where he covered medium enterprises to large local corporates. He then joined Credit Suisse Investment Banking Division in Mexico City for 2+ years, where he gained insight on sophisticated financial skills as well as exposure to a very large network of corporates and managers in the Latin America region. After Credit Suisse, Ricardo joined Tresalia Capital Private Equity, the largest Family Office in Mexico, where he had the opportunity to work in more than 20 transactions in various industries and leading several aspects of the due diligence process (valuation, business, quality of earnings, tax and legal). In the summer of 2017, Ricardo worked as a Senior Investment Associate at Coller Capital Private Equity in London, where he primarily worked modelling and analysing potential investments as well as identifying opportunities for future investments.

Ricardo holds a BS in International Business Management from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from London Business School.

Jose Andrés Labrador Barón

Before founding Kala Capital, Jose Andrés started his full-time professional career in Santander Bank Mexico, being part of the Corporate Banking team, he was hired initially as part of the bank's "New Talents" program. He then joined Credit Suisse in 2010, as an analyst in the Investment Banking Division in Mexico City, where he worked for 3+ years. Jose Andrés closed 16 transactions amounting to over US$8bn, advising domestic and international companies on mergers and acquisitions, strategic advisory assignments (capital structure, share repurchase, fairness opinions and corporate governance), financings and capital markets transactions.
In 2013 Jose Andrés joined Grupo Posadas, Mexico’s largest hotel operator. He was the youngest Deputy Director in the company, leading the Resort Division of the Development group. He’s responsibilities included originating, executing and closing new developments with local and foreign investors. After 2 years in Grupo Posadas, Jose Andres was invited by a former client from Credit Suisse to be part of the founding team of Anteris Capital, Mexico’s first Venture Debt fund. Jose Andrés participated in the creation of the Fund's investment strategy, all of its operating and risk analysis processes, as well as the fundraising stage. The fund is currently in its investment stage.

Jose Andrés holds a BS in Industrial Engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana and an MBA from IPADE Business School in Mexico.
